Ultra wide angle HD camera for power substations applications

SubstationsmallIndigoVision has released their ultra wide angle range of High Definition cameras, allowing viewing angles of 110 degrees with out any fish eye effect.

This means where traditionally where you would have required 2 or 3 cameras, the same can be covered with just 1 HD camera.

The advantage of theTheia 1.7mm ultra wide lensa ultra wide lens offers is full optical correction is performed in the lens, which results in a higher resolution image, across the whole scene.
This makes a big difference when compared to ceiling mount 360 degree cameras that use a fish eye lens and electronically straighten the image, where the edges of the scene are significantly lower in resolution than the centre.

The following examples illustrate the differences of the two different lens types

The HD camera range is currently available in a 720p model, with the 1080p being released in the coming months.

As with all IndigoVision products, the compression will not saturate you LAN, being typically 50% less than other HD products for the same measurable image quality.
