I have been in the security industry since 1988 and seen more aspects of electronic protection than most.
However I am still learning every day as the rate of change in the video surveillance industry is constant.
Whether people like myself are viewed as an expert, guru or a dinosaur, the fact is we have a lot of experience that can only be gained with hands on time in the trade or formally handed on.
I believe it is the responsibility of the industry dinosaurs to educate the next generations of the skills we have learnt so they can grow and improve on them with the newer technologies.
Over the years I have encountered numerous people, who’s knowledge is note worthy for those who wish to grow their understanding of how to best design a CCTV system.
Les Simmonds is a well respected consultant who established his own firm LSA in 1991 and has designed some of larger video surveillance systems in Australia
Vlado Damjanovski has written several books that provide a comprehensive explanation of the components involved in designing a CCTV system.
His representation of the CCTV industry started when he produced his Thesis on CCD cameras in 1982.
Leap Frog Training & Consulting
Charlie Pierce is a leading authority on the design and application of CCTV and Integrated Security Solutions since 1986.
Anyone who has seen his videos from the 1990’s will agree he is excellent at simplifying the complex.
